Tilloy-les-Mofflaines is a village 3 kilometres south-east of Arras, on the south side of the main road to Cambrai. TILLOY BRITISH CEMETERY is south-east of the village on the north-east side of the road to Wancourt, the D37.

  • Circumstances of Death Registers– "Killed in Action" He was struck in the stomach from an enemy shell during the attack on Guemappe, on the morning of August 26th, 1918. He died a few minutes later.

  • War Diary– August 8, 1918 War Diary entry reads: "Up to this time the casualties had been much smaller than anticipated although Lieut. McHardy had gone only a short distance from the Assault trench when he sustained mortal shrapnel wounds."
