  • Photo of Wilfrid Wilson– Image found within the archives of Renfrew Collegiate Institute. 
Wilfrid Wilson was born in Renfrew on June 25, 1986 to Rev. Matthew H. and Mrs. Emeline (nee Dalglish) Wilson of Kerrisdale, British Columbia (and Kinistino, Saskatchewan).  He enlisted on March 17, 1915 and first served with the 1st University Company before joining the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry on July 28, 1915.  Wilfrid was wounded in June 1916 at Sanctuary Wood but returned to the lines.  He was once again wounded September 15, 1916 near Courcelette and died of these wounds on October 11, 1916. Wilfrid is buried at the Etaples Military Cemetery which is south of Boulogne, Pas de Calais in France.
