Son of Cyril and Ellen Fletcher. Husband of Penelope Elizabeth Fletcher. Father of Daryl George and David Wesley Fletcher. Brother of Harold, William, Robert, Marjorie, Dorothy and Bernice Fletcher. A Lancaster Cairn Ceremony will be held at Base Comox Air Park on 1 June 2008 to honour the 7 crewmembers who lost their lives when Lancaster KB940 crashed at Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Station Comox on 24 November 1952. Family members from across Canada as well as members of the 407 Squadron, VIP and the press are invited to the ceremony.

During the 1939-1945 War, Canadian Infantry troops were stationed at Edmonton. No.13 Vocational Training School was set up and the airfield formed a link in the North-West Staging Route. Most of the war graves lie in Blocks 206 and 208. The cemetery also contains a Cross of Sacrifice. There are now 5 First World War and over 70 Second World War casualties commemorated in this site.
