Constable Scott was from Lyn, Ontario. He died from a gunshot wound sustained while responding to a call for assistance involving an impaired driver on November 5, 2007 at Kimmirut, Nunavut.

He enjoyed playing softball, skiing, fishing and snowmobiling. As a child, he dreamt of becoming a member of the RCMP. Cst Scott is buried in Maitland, Ontario.

Commemorated on Page 220 of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Honour Roll Book.
