He retired from the Armed Forces after 17 years of service. Cst. Agostinho served at both Cold Lake and Westaskiwin Detachments in Alberta. Further, he served as Commanding Officer of the Cold Lake Air Cadets and later the Leduc Air Cadets. Cst. Agostinho was always willing to help and had a sense of humour. On the day of his death, Cst. Agostinho had parked his police vehicle on the side of a busy highway to investigate a motor vehicle accident. A transport truck ended up ramming into the police vehicle. A park in Southfork community in Leduc, AB was built and named in his honour. Cst. Agostinho was married to Cheryl and they had two children: Stephanie and James.
