Cst. Gleadow received the RCMP Commissioner’s commendation “on devotion to duty” for disarming a violent man and defusing a dangerous situation. He was murdered at Esterhazy, Saskatchewan, while on duty. Cst. Gleadow and his wife Mabel had been married less than a year.

Commemorated on Page 63 of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Honour Roll Book.
