Constable Willmett was originally a house painter and came to Canada in early 1907. He was murdered by a burglar while on night patrol in the town of Frank, Alberta. It took over three years of undercover work to find out who was responsible. Constable Willmett is buried in the Union Cemetery, Fort MacLeod, Alberta.

Commemorated on Page 32 of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Honour Roll Book.
