Sergeant Wilde was a member of the Royal Irish Dragon Guards before coming to Canada. He was killed while attempting to arrest a fugitive near Dry Forks, Kootenai River, Northwest Territories.

Commemorated on Page 21 of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Honour Roll Book.
