This plaque was mounted by the Royal Rifles of Canada in 1991 in memory of its members who defended Hong Kong from the Japanese army during the siege of that territory in the Fall of 1941.

Les Royal Rifles of Canada, dont le chef-lieu était ce manège,
et les Winnipeg Grenadiers prenant part à la défense de Hong-Kong
en décembre 1941, furent les premières unités de l'Armée cana-
dienne à participer aux combats de la Deuxième Guerre mondiale.
Leur courage et ténacité imposèrent des retards à l'ennemi et
contribuèrent ainsi à la victoire ultime des Alliés.
