Visitor Education Centre - Building a Legacy

Each year, visitors from around the world come to the Canadian National Vimy Memorial to learn about and honour Canada's sacrifices and contributions during the First World War. To help the monument tell this important story, the new Visitor Education Centre was opened in April 2017.

This dynamic project was realized with the support of Canadians from coast to coast to coast. In addition to the Government of Canada's $5 million contribution, the Vimy Foundation also contributed $5 million thanks to generous donations from the private sector and individual Canadians. A registered Canadian charity, the Vimy Foundation's mission is to preserve and promote Canada's First World War legacy as symbolized by the victory at Vimy Ridge in April 1917.
