Remembrance Day

I went for a walk, along about dark
My path took me through the Veterans' Park.

The lights were shining clear and bright
So I stopped for a while under a light.

I paused for a moment to sit and remember
What it must have been like in that November.

When friends and loved ones came back from war
And others whose faces we'd see no more.

All those brave men who fought and died
We all remember with so much pride.

I hope there will never be another war
And there shall be peace for ever more.
