Eligibility details - Treatment Benefits
As a Veteran, you may be eligible for Treatment Benefits if you are currently receiving one of the following from Veterans Affairs Canada:
- a disability benefit;
- services through the Veterans Independence Program;
- financial assistance through the Long-Term Care program; or
- the War Veterans Allowance.
Important information for still-serving members
Your home organization will provide treatment benefits for your disability until you have released from service. Reservists and civilian members of the RCMP will receive their benefits from VAC.
Before you leave service
To ensure there is no interruption in the provision of your treatment benefits after you release, please ensure your discharge date/documentation has been provided to your Canadian Armed Forces Health Services Centre. For RCMP members, please notify your local VAC area office of your discharge date.
