Born 11 March 1872 in Ipswich, England. Son of the late Walter James and Mary J. Scott, of Ipswich, England; husband of Mary Jane Scott of Stratford, Ontario. He enlisted 29 June 1916 at Toronto, Ontario. He stated he was employed as a stationary fireman.
