Canada Remembers the Capture of Vimy Ridge at the Canadian National Vimy Memorial in France
On the occasion of the 97th anniversary of the Battle of Arras and the Capture of Vimy Ridge, Canadian and French citizens gathered today at the Canadian National Vimy Memorial, in France, to commemorate the Canadian soldiers who fought so valiantly at Vimy Ridge during the First World War.

Near the Visitor’s Centre at the Canadian National Vimy Memorial in France, Minister Fantino presents the Vimy Foundation’s Pilgrimage medals to the winning students of the Foundation’s 2014 Vimy Pilgrimage Award. The presentations were made after the ceremony to mark the 97th anniversary of the Battle of Arras at Vimy Ridge.
