Third annual Sam Sharpe Breakfast

On May 5th, the Honourable Kent Hehr, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence, attended and spoke at the third Annual Sam Sharpe Breakfast, which focused on exploring Veteran mental health and wellness.
The event was co-hosted by The Honourable Erin O’Toole, Member of Parliament for Durham, and Lieutenant-General Roméo Dallaire. Also speaking at the event were Michael Landsberg, television personality and founder of Sick-Not-Weak, CTV sports broadcaster Joe Tilley who shared his personal story, and Scott Maxwell, Executive Director, Wounded Warriors Canada.
Minister Hehr highlighted the importance of ending the stigma around mental illness and encouraged everyone to assist loved ones who may be suffering, to seek the help they need. He also spoke to the Government of Canada’s commitment to Veterans and their well-being.
