His full name is Patrick Joseph Collins.

Son of Owen Collins and Winnifred McCormack, of Belfast, Northern Ireland. Brother of Sapper Owen Collins of the Royal Canadian Engineers Corps and Private Mac Collins of the 1st Battalion of the Governor General's Foot Guards. They fought in Europe and survived the war.

He served for a time with the Régiment blindé de Trois-Rivières, Québec before transferring to the Canadian Merchant Navy. He drowned at sea on 28 November 1941.
