Son of Nathan Bruce and Nora (nee Magdanish) Chiswell of Hamilton, Ontario. Brother of Sharon. Husband of Joyce Marie (nee Goff) and father of Kim, Leslie, Cheryl and Carrie of London, Ontario. A Commemorative Ceremony was held at Wegner Point on 11 May 2008 to honour the seven fallen paratroopers who drowned in 1968 during a para drop exercise at CFB Petawawa. Close to 100 guests, most in uniform, attended the Ceremony gathered around the Memorial Cairn. Several family members of the deceased were present for the Ceremony.
