Constable Lamont, born in Scotland, went to the United States in 1910 where he worked as a farmer. In 1913 he enlisted in the RNWMP. He contracted typhoid fever while caring for an Arctic Explorer on Herschel Island. Constable Lamont is buried on Herschel Island, Yukon.

Commemorated on Page 41 of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Honour Roll Book.
