Ce porteur universel, appelé « chenillette porte-Bren », a été érigé par la Royal Westminster Regiment Association en tant que monument commémoratif pour les membres du 1er Bataillon et du 2e Bataillon, du Régiment Westminster (motorisé), qui ont servi pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Le porteur a été inauguré le 9 novembre 2014, et le commandant, le lieutenant-colonel Dave Vernon, était présent pour accepter l’inauguration.

Universal Carrier
This Universal Carrier No. 2 Mk 2 is dedicated to the memory and sacrifice of the members of the 1st Battalion and 2nd Battalion, The Westminster Regiment (Motor) who served from 1939 to 1946, during World War II. The Regiment was engaged in fighting in North Africa, Italy and North West Europe against the Axis Forces.
The primary use of the universal carrier was to transport a section of infantry soldiers. The carrier had a mounted automatic weapon usually the Bren Light Machine Gun which led to the carrier being nicked-named the "Bren Gun Carrier".
The paint scheme of this Carrier is that of the 1st Battalion The Westminster Regiment (Motor). Along with the typical tactical signs, soldiers would paint names of their wives and sweethearts on the side of their vehicle.
This particular example was produced from the British War Department design and specifications by the Ford Motor Company of Canada plant at Windsor, Ontario in May of 1944.
