Ce monument a été dévoilé le 1er juin 1924 par le révérend H.A. McManus en présence des anciens combattants de Oxbow, Lampman, Frobisher, Carnduff et Estevan. Sa construction a été financée par la Alameda Band et entreprise par T.H. Truscott. Le maire et les conseillers de la ville d’Alameda en sont responsables et les citoyens s’occupent de l’entretien.

Ce tumulus a été érigé suite à la Première Guerre mondiale par la filiale Radville (no 42) de la Légion royale canadienne. Une plaque nommant ceux qui ont péri lors de la Première Guerre mondiale est posée sur le tumulus. Une autre plaque a été ajoutée après la Seconde Guerre mondiale. En 1960, la ville de Radville renomma les rues pour refléter les noms de ceux qui ont donné leur vie au nom de la paix.
