Outre le monument érigé à son siège social de Toronto, la Banque Canadienne de Commerce a rendu hommage aux employés de chaque succursale qui ont servi pendant la Première Guerre mondiale, cette plaque a été commandée peu après la guerre et dédiée aux 1701 employés de la banque qui ont servi pendant la guerre, dont 321 qui y ont perdu la vie. Les noms de sept employés de la Banque Canadienne de Commerce de Milestone a qui ont servi pendant la guerre sont inscrits sur cette plaque.

La plaque porte le logo de la banque – un caducée aux ailes déployées, dans le haut à gauche, et deux coquelicots en bas à droite entremêlés à une branche d’olivier symbolique. La Banque Canadienne de Commerce s’est donné beaucoup de mal pour rendre hommage aux membres de son personnel qui ont servi pendant la guerre, notamment en commandant des mémoriaux pour ses succursales et en publiant un livre en deux volumes contenant les profils des membres du personnel et des récits de leurs expériences pendant la guerre.
