George served with the Signals Corps – NPAM – service number 2905, from 25 September 1936 to 1 October 1937, where he qualified as signaller class A.

Brother of Flying Officer Thomas Marnoch Campbell, who died on March 5, 1945, while serving with the Royal Canadian Air Force.
