Commemorative Partnership Program

Veterans Affairs Canada is committed to honouring those who served Canada in times of war, military conflict and peace, and to keeping the memory of their achievements and sacrifices alive for all Canadians. To support this commitment, the Commemorative Partnership Program (CPP) provides funding to organizations undertaking remembrance initiatives.

The CPP provides funding for two types of projects:

Community Engagement

Community Engagement funding supports commemorative activities (e.g. events) or the development of commemorative resources (e.g. learning materials).

Throughout 2019-20 significant milestones will be marked, notably the 75th anniversary of the Italian Campaign and the Liberation of the Netherlands. We strongly encourage organizations seeking funding to commemorate these significant milestone anniversaries to submit applications as soon as possible.

NOTE: Applications will be assessed based on geographical reach.

Maximum of $1,200 for local projects

Maximum of $2,500 for regional projects

Projects with a larger geographical reach will be assessed on a case-by-case basis to determine the funding amount. Please contact the CPP staff before submitting an application.

Please review the Program Guidelines for more information.

Community War Memorial

Community War Memorial funding supports the construction, restoration or expansion of a community war memorial.

The next application deadline is November 1, 2019, for community war memorial projects starting on or after April 1, 2020.

Please review the Program Guidelines for more information.

Veterans Affairs Canada aims to notify applicants in writing of its funding decision within 12 weeks of the application deadline, provided that an application is deemed complete.
