Location:

Terschelling, an island at the entrance to the Ijsselmeer (Zuyder Zee), belongs to the Frisian group which lies off the north coast of Holland. Westerschelling is the main village and port on the island, and is reached by ferry boat from Harlingen on the mainland. The TERSCHELLING (WESTERSCHELLING) GENERAL CEMETERY is 2 kilometres north-west of the village in the sand dunes. The British, Commonwealth and Allied graves occupy a full length row on the left of the main path as you enter, and a short row on the right of this path at the far end of the cemetery.
