Grave Marker – Photo courtesy of Frans van Cappellen, The Netherlands JB924 was one of three No.78 Halifaxes lost on this operation. Airborne 2317 13May43 from Linton-on-Ouse, it was shot down by a night- fighter and crashed 0255 , some 4 km NE of Harlingen, Holland. Six of those killed are buried in Barradeel (Wijnaldum) protestant Churchyard but RCAF Navigator J. M. Farrell is buried in Franekeradeel (Dongjum) Protestant Churchyard. In addition to the two RCAF members, also killed were RAF F/S R.E.Bragg; Sgt E.Pritchard; F/L R.Grey; Sgt R.D.Matches; and Sgt D.Baxter. One, Sgt H.E.Gell, survived and was taken PoW.
