His real name is Joseph-Laurent-Alphonse Morin. Joseph Bergeron is an alias under which he enrolled and served.

Son of Laurent Morin and Hermine Boissonnault (who respectively died in 1912 and 1907).

His godfather and godmother, Ferdinand Tanguay and Malvina Boissonnault lived in St-François-de-Montmagny, Québec.

He is commemorated on page 53 of the First World War Book of Remembrance under his alias.
