Constable De Beaujeu was a college student from Montreal prior to joining the NWMP. He drowned in Lake Winnipeg when the Mounted Police boat capsized during a storm. His body was recovered two months after the sinking of the Keewatin and was sent to Montreal for burial. A street at Depot is named after Constable De Beaujeu.

Commemorated on Page 15 of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Honour Roll Book.
