When the model for the Miawpukek First Nation Cenotaph was approved, Chief and Council, Shayne McDonald, Les Benoit and Colleen Lambert assisted in the further development and construction of the memorial. The cenotaph was erected in 2013 by Sergeant Joe (retired) and Corporal Benoit (retired). Prior to this, those wanting to pay respects on Remembrance Day had to travel 45 minutes to the next community where the legion's memorial was located.

Act of Remembrance

They shall not grow old
As we that are left behind grow old
Age shall not weary them
Nor the years condemn them.
At the going down of the sun
And in the morning...
We will remember them.
