Description
Mrs. Jackson speaks about how the people of London accepted the Guinea Pigs in their local pubs.
Transcription
They had a pub in East Grinstead that was home to a lot of the boys. They accepted them. They didn’t stare at their disfigurement. They just talked to them and the boys unloaded to them and they felt at home. They weren’t in the hospital they were down at Felbrigg? I think it was Felbrigg Inn or something, the pub and the people of East Grinstead just accepted them just as if they were bright shiny faces or whatever, but mind you these boys I said, had a great sense of humour and they weren’t beyond teasing.
