Transcription
Interviewer: Are you proud of the service that you and your generation did for Canada?
Oh yes, yeah. What we did for, for Canada as a nation, they say we became a nation at Ypres but we fortified that, that thought again during, during this war, or during World War Two. Because we, we developed I think, something within, within the people in Canada, within, within myself. I felt, "I'm proud to be a Canadian," you know, "I'm proud for what we did." And, and I look at other nations, and I was talking to people about it, I said, "Look it, we came here, we, we, we volunteered," and the guy said, "No, no you were conscribed." And I said, "No, no we volunteered to come here." And as, and he said, "You know, as much as that speaks a lot, a lot for you people."
