You’re firm friends for life - serving together, loving the force, loving what we were doing, loving the men, ahhh yes, the men! There was the other side, of course. There’s a lot of unpleasantness in life whether you... we were bombed a few times, and they got my nylons every time. The class would come in, when we’d put our beds, we’d put them beside, behind the solid wall, you see. So “Blast!!” and in comes the glass and we never had enough brains to close our suitcases along the side and, of course, nylons were precious. They were sent from Canada, you see, hard to get here, too! And they’d be shredded, and I’d have to write home and say, “Can I have some more nylons? ”
