I think it was when the buzz bombs first started coming over and they didn’t know enough not to shoot at them and they were shooting at them and all the flack was coming down and we, we were outside with our tin hats on and the air raid warden come along and chased us in and we said, “But we’ve got our tin hats on!” We were picking up flack for souvenirs. When I was on the afternoon shift, there was an air raid and we couldn’t go, we couldn’t go out of the building. So after they had to give us MT to take us home, cause the tubes had stopped and I could remember going around this, going around and around this trying to get home and there was a church on fire and the flames were coming up in it, you know like, you used to see in the fireworks. I never forgot that! In fact after, even after I was married I, I would wake up hollering, “It’s on fire, on fire!” You know. So it was really, did make a big impression on my mind.
