On our return they were very anxious to get our camera and films and I guess they were glad to see us too and we would be debriefed by intelligence officers who were to obtain all the information from us regarding defenses to what extent defenses were, night fighters in what numbers and targets, fires over the targets and all information pertaining to a bombing mission regarding your en route what the defenses were, what they were over the target and on the way back what defenses were because then they would try to pinpoint those defenses and then route us somewhere in between those on the next bombing mission or so. That was the main purpose, was to find out their defenses. Not only the debriefing people would be there but the padre would be there and he would portion out a tot of rum to each of us.
