Mr. Morrison recounts the reception received when returning from Afghanistan both by the American and Canadian people.

When I finally got home from Afghanistan, when my tour was finished and we got back into, flew into Edmonton the welcome we got was warm but I believe it was Greenland, we flew in to an American base to refuel and the reception we received from the Americans was phenomenal, phenomenal like we were their family. They brought us in, I mean we were only in the airport but, high ranking officers were there, wives, kids, all extending a hand to us and thanking us for the job that we had done. I mean when we got to Edmonton there was a few warm applause and basically free Tim Hortons. For a soldier, a free Tim Hortons when you haven’t had one in a few months or whatnot its nice to have but... the Edmonton police had a convoy and we didn’t have to stop for any lights getting home. We got on the busses and it was a direct drive, no stops, and that was a good feeling.
