I don’t know if I can put it into words, I mean I’m proud of what I’ve done for my country. If I had to do it over again I wouldn’t hesitate to go back. Let’s take Afghanistan for now. If I was 40 years younger, I know I would be at the head of the line to head to Afghanistan. I do have a lot of pride in my military service and I do have a lot of pride in the blue beret. I believe it stands for peace and protection of those that are downtrodden. I think one of the events that stands out in my mind is when United Nations gave us our first medal. I knew I was heading home very shortly. I was ecstatic about that but I was very proud to receive my first medal, it was the first one that I ever got in the military. That’s one thing that stands out in my mind. The other thing is that I came home in one piece, that I wasn’t injured and I thank God for that. I’m glad and proud to be a Canadian and that I can stand up on November11th. I’m proud to be a Veteran also.
