’04 I built a school for girls. That was huge. In this village they didn’t want us there. We did it, we built a school. We had no trouble. As far as I know it’s still there. That was in 2004 in Kabul. Going south, Kandahar, I don’t have a lot of happy memories from Kandahar. We had a hard mission that year.

They brought some NHL players over to see us and my friend Mike who is my partner. He’s a huge hockey fan of Bob Probert, Detroit Red Wings. So we had just happened to come back to get some stuff in the Kandahar airfield. I found out that they were there. I found out where they were sleeping at and I kind of broke into their sleeping quarters through their security and ended up getting caught but at the time Mr. Probert came out and I said, “Mr. Probert sir can I talk to you? ” So he told the security to leave me alone and I explained to him that my friend is a huge fan. He’s too shy to come find you, would you be willing to give him five minutes. He said, “Sure, if you can give me an hour to get ready!” But I said, “We’re leaving, we’re heading back out and we’re not coming back.” And he said, “Absolutely!” So he was in a pair of shorts. He didn’t even have a shirt on so he went and grabbed a shirt and came out. I grabbed my friend Mike and he called me the “A” word, don’t like to say it on camera! He was mad at me but I walked away and I left Mike and Bob Probert chat and it made all the bad things go away and that made the good thing which was amazing to see him with pretty much his hero standing right next to him. That’s probably the only good thing from 2007 was that the rest was just not happy, not pleasant.
