  • Enhance knowledge and understanding of Veteran and family well-being using the determinants of health model.
  • Reinforce the non-profit sector’s ability to assist with issues specific to Veterans and their families, such as homelessness, careers and employment, and transition to life after service.
  • Encourage coordination of multiple players including agencies, institutions, associations and other levels of government.
  • Support new ideas to adapt existing programs or form new programs and services to meet the treatment and care needs of ill and injured Veterans.

The organization aimed to retain 70% of their participants throughout the life of the project.

During the project, the group met three days a week. The Veterans were able to socialize during the sessions and also had the opportunity to discuss their daily challenges and worries.

Project Results:

The organization was able to retain over 70% of the 50 participants who had registered at the beginning of the program. In the end, the program was more popular than expected.
