Mr. Bill Anderson - Normandy

Second World War

Mr. Bill Anderson - Normandy

Transcript
We were here and then for 75 years we weren’t here … and now we’re here again. It’s the coming together of a lot of memories. My time here in Normandy was longer than the assault forces because I was a reinforcement person but this centre brings it all together. Not just the landing not just the beach but the whole 2 or 3 years. No uniform is without a whole lot of memories and a whole lot of dedication. Certainly I feel welcomed, I feel as if you’re visiting me! A message from the government of Canada
Description

Bill Anderson landed in Normandy in June 1944 as part of the 4th Canadian (Armoured) Division. In June, Mr. Anderson returned to @JunoBeachCentre as part of our #DDay75 delegation and he reflects on what it was like to be back in France 75 years later. #CanadaRemembers.
