Captain Palling's grave marker in St. Paul's Innisfil Cemetery, just outside Barrie, Ontario. It (the grave marker) appeared, in 2015, to be a relatively new replacement stone. A personal message is near the bottom: "HE HATH DONE WHAT HE COULD." (Image taken by Gregory J. Barker of Barrie, Ontario, in 2015.)

Officer's Declaration Paper signed by Capt Palling. Although the typewriter's print is somewhat unclear, this form indicates that Capt Palling was born in the Township of Medonte [which now, in 2015, is part of the Township of Oro-Medonte] in the County of Simcoe [Ontario]. Interestingly, Capt Palling appears to have also signed, as medical officer, his own Certificate of Medical Examination.
