Frederick James Carson was born in Southampton, Ontario on March 2nd, 1895. His mother, Mrs. James Carson, is listed on his attestation as his "next-of-kin". Prior to the war, Carson was a printer. His prior military experience included 3 years in the 32nd Bruce Regiment. He enlisted in the CEF on October 7th, 1915 in London, Ontario. He is remembered on the Southampton Cenotaph. This war memorial includes plaques with the names of men from World Wars 1 & 2. The WWI list is inscribed: "In grateful remembrance of the men of Southampton who fought and died in the Great War".
Southampton is in Bruce County, Ontario and is the oldest port on the Bruce Coast. This photograph was taken by Mr. Clive Freeman in the summer of 2002.

ANNEXE BRITANNIQUE DU CIMETIÈRE COMMUNAL DE CHAUNY Aisne, France
Chauny est une petite ville industrielle du département de l'Aisne, située à 7 kilomètres environ au sud-ouest de La Fère, sur le canal de Saint-Quentin et la rivière Oise, à 24 kilomètres au sud de Saint-Quentin. L'annexe britannique, dans le cimetière communal, se trouve directement au nord de Chauny.
