236 BGen Duncan Sayre Macinnes CMG DSO (RMC 1885) was the son of Hon. Donald MacInnes and Mary Amelia (nee Robinson), his wife, of Hamilton, Ontario. He was the husband of Millicent Wolferstan MacInnes, of The Ridge, Camberley, Surrey. He served with the Royal Engineers, Inspector of Mines, G.H.Q., 1st Echelon. He was awarded a Companion of the Order of St. Michael and St. George; the Distinguished Service Order. Order of St. Stanislas, 1st Class (Russia); and Officer of The Legion of Honour (France). He died on 23 May 1918. He was buried in the Etaples Military Cemetery in Pas de Calais, France.

Brigadier General Duncan Sayre Macinnes DSO, CMG died on May 23, 1918. He graduated from the Royal Military College of Canada in 1891, winning the sword of honour in 1891 and the Governor-General gold medal. He is remembered at RMC on the Memorial Arch, and the memorial stairwell.

CIMETIÈRE MILITAIRE D'ÉTAPLES Pas de Calais, France
Étaples est une ville située à 27 kilomètres environ au sud de Boulogne. Le cimetière militaire se trouve au nord de la ville, du côté ouest de la route qui mène à Boulogne.
