Fils de Clarence Leslie et Margaret A. Watt, de Merrickville (Ontario). Frère du lieutenant d'aviation Norman Watt, qui a servi dans l'Aviation royale du Canada et qui est décédé le 1 juillet 1943.
Il a perdu deux oncles, le soldat William Lloyd Watt et le soldat Richard Norman Watt pendant la Première Guerre mondiale.

Serving on the Committee were Jack Jessop, Past President of Legion Branch 245; Joyce McKay, who lost a brother in the Second World War; Peter McKenna, Executive Director of Merrickville and District Community Health Centre; and Jack Wilcox, who upon discharge from the Canadian Army in 1945, prepared the Sydney Academy Memorial Booklet honouring the students of the Academy who gave their lives in the Second World War.

#2 Missing Research & Enquiry Unit Report pg 1
This is page 1 of a report by the RAF casualty search units that traced down the missing air crew from WWII. It contains all of the facts that they had managed to gather to that point in time. This information was found during the research of one of his crew, the Air Bomber Bill Fetherston

#2 Missing Research & Enquiry Unit Report pg 2
This page states that the searchers actually saw the remains of the aircraft and identified it as a Lancaster with the number NN 758 on it. They found that there had been a survivor of the crew (Bellisle) though they did not know his name as yet. They took action to register the grave for the graves concentration units that were to follow.

CRASHED BRITISH AIRCRAFT Report
This is the Air Ministry report on the aircraft found just north of Laichingen, Germany. It identifies Watts aircraft by Roundel numbers, aircraft part serial numbers etc. This is F/O Watts aircraft.

One crew member survived, F/Sgt A.C. Bellisle (RCAF) who was captured and taken POW at Stalag 5A. F/Sgt Bellisle returned to Canada after the war.

CIMETIÈRE DE GUERRE DE DURNBACH Allemagne
Durnbach est un village à 16 kilomètres à l'est de Bad Tolz, une ville située à 48 kilomètres au sud de Munich. Le cimetière de guerre de Durnbach est à 3 kilomètres au nord du village de Gmund am Tegernsee. En suivant la A8 à partir de Munich, tournez à l'intersection Holzkirchen, prenant ainsi la route 318 en direction de Gmund am Tegernsee. Au carrefour avec la 427, tournez à gauche sur la Miesbach. Le cimetière se trouve à gauche, à 500 mètres environ du carrefour entre la 318 et la 472.
