From the Sydney Academy Memorial booklet, published by the Student's Assembly in memory of former students who served during the Second World War. The original pictures were supplied by the Sydney Post-Record and the booklet was compiled by Jack Wilcox, class of 1946 and Donald Trivett, class of 1947.<p>

P/O Phillip Musgrave, age 21, was killed on August 17, 1944, when Lancaster PA 988, was shot down six miles north-west of Ringstedt, Denmark. P/O Musgrave was an air-gunner with from No.405 Pathfinder Squadron, on a raid to Kiel, and, though he bailed out before the aircraft crashed, his parachute failed to open. Four of his crew escaped capture and made it to Sweden, and then back to the UK.. He is buried in the Commonwealth Memorial Cemetery, near Svino, Denmark.

Philip A. Musgrave, Air Gunner, 405 Pathfinder Squadron. Killed August 17, 1944 over Denmark. Aircraft LQP was on the return leg of a bombing mission over Stettin harbour. Philip Musgrave is buried in Svino, Denmark. Phil was originally from Sydney, Nova Scotia. He will always be remembered!

Svino est un petit village dans le sud de la Zélande, avec vue sur le Fjord de Dybso, à quelques 90 kilomètres au sud-sud-ouest de Copenhague. Le lot Britannique est une extension de l'ENCLOS PAROISSIAL DE SVINO et est situé au Nord de l'église.
