The town of Authie, France honoured 37 Canadian soldiers by naming a street after them. The young Canadians, mostly from the Maritimes, were part of the D-Day invasion and were killed while trying to liberate the town from the Germans.

On June 7th & 8th 1944, Hollis McKeil and 19 others were murdered after being taken prisoner in what is know as the Ardenne Abbey Massacre

Quittez Bayeux vers l'est sur le D12; au village de Sommervieu tournez-vous à droite et suivre le D112, après 3 kilomètres tournez-vous à droite vers le D87. Le cimetière se trouve à main gauche, après une courbure vers la gauche.
