While researching the World War II # 5 RCAF radar site at Queensport / Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia. I saw where LAC Flower died in the vehicle accident at Dort's Cove, Nova Scotia. <P>
Edward Flower was born on March 3, 1915, a cold and windy day in the city of Toronto. On December 20, 1944, he died on an equally cold and windy day as a result of a motor vehicle accident.<P>
As a young man, he witnessed the roaring twenties, survived the great depression of the 1930's and in his own small way helped win a war. He served at # 5 RCAF Radar Base Queensport / Cole Harbour which was situated high on the Barrens of Guysborough County.<P>
On Saturday, December 20, 2008, 64th anniversary of his death, Brian Richard and Roger Cyr (Legion Members) placed a wreath at the bottom of Gammon's Hill at a spot known as 'The Punch Bowl' and commemorate the life of Edward James Flower at the eleventh hour.<P>
We shall remember them.
