He was born in Ridgetown Ontario on Sept. 16th 1888. He enlisted as an Officer into the 102nd Battn. at Comox BC on May. 1st 1916 listing his occupation as "Surveyor" he also listed prior military service as such.

He was invalided back to Canada in 1917 where on May 18th 1918 he succumbed to an infection after knee surgery at age 29 and was laid to rest in the Mountain View cemetery of Vancouver BC.
