Christopher Lohnes

A proud serving member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) for the past 33 years, Mr. Christopher Lohnes volunteers countless hours to provide service to his country, communities, the military, the RCMP and fellow Veterans.

He co-founded the AUDEAMUS Service Dog Program, which is a national training program that matches Veterans diagnosed with PTSD, operational stress injuries, TBI and physical limitations with AUDEAMUS service dogs to assist with the Veterans’ daily functioning and bio-psycho-social-spiritual health. Mr. Lohnes is also involved in two major service dog studies connected to the University of Saskatchewan.

As part of the program, Veterans receive a personalized curriculum and learning style, active participation in medical and mental health treatment plans and involvement in service dog training. Ongoing care is provided by medical health professionals, and Veterans have access to education about service dogs.

Over 120 Veterans have been matched with an AUDEAMUS service dog since its inception.
