Edwin Laird

Mr. Laird is a Second World War Veteran. He has held several senior positions within Branch No. 2 of the Royal Canadian Legion in Prince Albert over the last 42 years. Throughout, he has worked tirelessly for seniors and fellow members of the Veteran community. In 1995, Mr. Laird was chosen as one of the five Provincial Presidents for the Legion's Canada Remembers commemorative activities. Mr. Laird worked for many years to establish a Veterans Home in Prince Albert. He belonged to the Visiting Funerals and Graves Committee for 20 years during which he fulfilled Chaplain duties at funerals. Mr. Laird has organized many seminars in concert with Veterans Affairs Canada and works on behalf of Veterans with the department's counsellors. He is well-known for his devotion to Veterans and undertakes regular visits with shut-in Veterans.
