Francis Allard

Mr. Allard is a Canadian Armed Forces Veteran. He is a member of The Royal Canadian Legion (RCL) and a director with a cadet corps in the Québec region. He is involved with annual Veterans’ Week activities and in particular, with the cadet participation in the RCL’s Poppy Campaign. Mr. Allard has the opportunity to present medals to cadets at annual, year-end ceremonies, which help raise awareness of Canada’s military achievements. During Veterans Week 2014, he worked on a new program which allowed cadets to have opportunities to listen to stories from Veterans of the Second World War and Korean War. In addition to his work with cadets and the RCL, he volunteers with the St. John Ambulance; assists with Aboriginal Awareness Week; helps organize the annual Battle of Atlantic ceremony; and is in the process of becoming an Officer Cadet Instructor. Mr. Allard also assists at a local health centre, which specializes in treating soldiers and Veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress injuries.
