John Adams

Mr. Adams is a Second World War Veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force. Since his arrival at the Caribou Memorial Veterans' Pavillion in 2004, he has advocated for resident Veterans, many of whom have physical and cognitive health needs. He has been a member of several committees, including the Food Committee and the Executive Committee for the Residents/Family Council. His efforts were instrumental in ensuring the quality of food served to Veterans. Mr. Adam's determination and advocacy work also contributed to the construction of the new Dementia Care Unit. He takes it upon himself to welcome new residents and help them make the transition to long term care. His pursuit of knowledge and lifelong learning is evident in his willingness to teach residents about basic computer and internet skills, and write to inquiring students across the country about his war time service.
